Virtual Task Force Projects

Together, we can do the impossible.

Human Centric, Trauma Informed
Toolkit Project

“Traumatized people chronically feel unsafe inside their bodies: The past is alive in the form of gnawing interior discomfort. Their bodies are constantly bombarded by visceral warning signs, and, in an attempt to control these processes, they often become expert at ignoring their gut feelings and in numbing awareness of what is played out inside. They learn to hide from their selves.” ― Bessel A. van der Kolk

We know that actually being Human Centric or Trauma Informed is very difficult so we, with some of our most valued partners, are creating an assessable toolkit that is well vetted by people in the field of criminal justice.

Death Investigation and
Fatality Review Project

We are interested in cultivating a deeper understanding into
death investigation and fatality review.

2019 Goals:
We are working with national experts  in death investigation and review in redefining and updating minimum standards of all unattended death investigations and fatality review.

2020 Goals:

We plan to access police reports and medical records 2019 unattended deaths (including: suicides, over-dose and SIDS/SUID) in two major cities, two mid-sized cities and, two small towns.  We will ask:  How many investigations met minimum standards?  Does the possibility exist that many of these types of deaths are not properly investigated and/or misclassified?

2021 Goals:
Taking what we learn in 2020, we will assess fatality review boards to eventually release our findings to the nation.

“Our dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them”. -George Eliot

Only through working together, will we be able to make a difference.
There is enough violence to go around, we don’t have to work against each other.
