Your training participants will thank you!
If you are planning on having Strand² present at your conference, workshop or training event, it is just one more step to have us provide Human Centric Yoga.
Yoga for conferences, workshops or trainings.
Are you planning to host a conference, workshop or training that is focused on trauma and/or crime victimization? Do you have topics on the agenda that are heavy and difficult to digest- but absolutely essentials for professionals to be successful in their very difficult jobs? Are you planning on having Strand² as trainings? Consider bringing us to lead a yoga class for your training participants.
Yoga is considered beneficial for conferences focused on trauma and healing because it provides a structured practice to help individuals reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous system, cultivate self-awareness, and promote a sense of safety and grounding.
All of these are crucial aspects of vicarious trauma recovery, particularly human centric yoga that is both trauma-informed and healing centered. This allows participants to potentially process emotions and physical sensations in a supportive environment while learning coping mechanisms to manage stress and anxiety related to trauma.
Some gifts you can offer your community:
- Mind-body connection: Yoga integrates physical movement with breathwork and meditation, allowing individuals to become more aware of their physical sensations and mental states, which can be especially helpful for those who have experienced trauma-induced dissociation from their bodies.
- Nervous system regulation: Breathing techniques used in yoga can help regulate the nervous system, which is often dysregulated in individuals with trauma, leading to improved stress management and emotional stability.
- Sense of agency and control: By practicing yoga, individuals can regain a sense of control over their bodies and reactions, which can be empowering for those who may have felt powerless due to trauma.
- Human Centered approach: When taught with a human centric and trauma informed approach, yoga classes prioritize safety, choice, and respect for individual boundaries, allowing participants to move at their own pace and modify poses as needed.
- Stress reduction: Yoga’s calming effects can help reduce stress and anxiety symptoms frequently associated with trauma.
The best part? We teach in a way that allows your participants to see the value of yoga on their own mental and physical health. We will then help them to connect the dots and see how yoga can also be beneficial for the people that they serve.
